I’m not a dentist, just a kid whose Dad happens to be a dental malpractice lawyer, but I do know a thing or two about taking care of your teeth. One of the biggest confidence boosters is good dental hygiene.
Make sure that you brush and floss your teeth at least 2 or 3 times a day for a healthier set of teeth. If you want to have extra healthy teeth, you can even use an electric toothbrush. You may think that brushing your teeth is only about your teeth, but when you forget to brush your teeth, your gums can become damaged as well. There is an old saying, “Only floss the teeth you want to keep.” This saying is helpful because it has a very literal meaning. Always take care of your teeth so you can have them for as long as possible.
Another part of good dental hygiene is limiting your intake of sugars. If you eat a lot of sugar or drink a lot of sugary drinks, even if you brush and floss your teeth, you are still at risk of developing a cavity and they are very painful. Limiting your sugar can also help improve your health aside from your teeth as well. Sugar is not good for our bodies, but a treat every once in a while is OK, just don’t over-do it.
